Metaverse — The virtual physical world.

Experience the real virtually

No, no, these are not contradictory concepts, rather the future with #metaverse

A universe in itself with almost everything available in virtual form
- Avatars — a digital version for yourself
- Virtual Land and its maps — a digital place for yourself. Can be home, office, studio, stadium, virtually anything.
- NFTs — for unique identification of your assets
- Digital /cryptocurrency — for virtual e-commerce
- Wearables — The real and tangible means to enter the metaverse. Imagine some kind of gloves that can give you vibrations or the actual feel of handshakes done in the virtual world.

From my reading so far (and there’s a lot more to read), I have seen more of B2C and P2P use cases of metaverse use cases — virtual classrooms, meetings, shopping, fitness, travel, entertainment and so on.

How things would work for B2B operations? For instance

- What would be the Avatar for an organisation? Or they don’t need an avatar but a unique digital identity? Say a #GSTIN #CIN #LEI?
- Documents have seen a transition from hard copy to soft (or electronic) copy. Would there exist a separate virtual copy?
- The last mile interaction in #lending or #KYC where either physical inspection is done or video interaction with a real person is done, could become virtual?
- Assuming all participants need to have their presence in the metaverse, what risks could emerge and how to address those for a complete metaverse experience
- Multiple metaverses could exist. So would Avatars?

There’s so much more to read, understand and maybe ‘define’ as well.

As the metaverse develops, more direct elements and ancillary to make the metaverse work efficiently are expected to emerge. No wonder it’s projected as a trillion-dollar opportunity.

There is a dark side too — global warming, blurring lines between real-real and virtual-real, mental state of the real physical being etc. Only time will tell — are we heading towards a utopian or dystopian future.
